Baby Parts with Pacifier

So last week we had Landon say bye bye to the pacifier. He only had it for naps and at bedtime but he really hunted for that thing to go to sleep. One of my friends told me to hide it under the bumper pads, but he would still find it. So finally Troy said that it was time for him to man up.

For anyone out there who has heard that it only takes 3 nights but doesn't believe them, it really does work in 3 nights. The first night took an hour for him to go to sleep. The second night took 3o minutes. The third night he cried for about 10 minutes then talked for 20. The 4th night he talked himself to sleep. I was amazed that he could do it and glad that we did it now instead of later when he can ask for it.

So I thought everyone might want to chuckle with us about how he falls asleep. It is so cute to see him. And yes, he loves that blanket.

Happy Birthday Landon!!

Yesterday was Landon's 1st Birthday! Can you believe he is already one? It feels like he's been a part of our family for as long as we can remember, yet it seems like such a short time ago we were at the hospital meeting him for the first time. He is such a joy in our lives and we feel so blessed to be parents.

Here's the play by play of our day yesterday. Troy made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast since that is what I wanted to eat after Landon was born. Then we watched the video after he was born and getting weighed and his first bath. After his morning nap we went to get him pictures taken which turned our sooo cute. After his afternoon nap we opened presents and went to our town carnival. He has a blast and was so cute about everything. I think is favorite part were the animals. When we got home we let him dig into a little cake which was so fun for us to watch. It was a wonderful celebration of his first year of life. On Saturday we're having a party with some friends so stay tuned. Happy Birthday my Baby Boy!

Camping at Rickett's Glen

Over Memorial Day weekend a group of us all went up to Rickett's Glen to have a campout! This was the first time in a long time since I had been camping and we had a great time. I was a little nervous about how Landon would do and he did pretty well considering it dropped down to the 30's at night. We had a beautiful hike the next dat with over 20 waterfalls along our path. It was much more strenuous than we anticipated but well worth it. Troy was a trooper for carrying Landon almost the whole way, I did my duty the last quarter of a mile. Hope you enjoy the slide shows I've added.

On Memorial Day itself we ran our first 5K! Our ward did this to benefit a new baby who is having some trouble due to complications at birth. It was really neat to be a part of this fund raiser for their family. Later on we went to a hot dog roast at some friends house and felt like we were at camp again standing over their fire pit. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Ocean City, NJ

Last Thursday we went to the Jersey shore for the first time with our friends the Ekmans. As you can see it was very overcast and windy but we still had a great time on the boardwalk and the beach. We ate like we haven't eaten in a long time and I mean a really long time. Check this out.....we had Pizza, fries, funnel cakes, gelato, custard, and samples of fudge. Troy and Carl also tried their hand at flying a really cheap kite and did really well!

Farewell Reese

We had to find Reese a new home last weekend after he bit Landon on the eye. Reese was a very cuddly dog and fun to have around but as parents we had to put the safety of our baby first. It happend once and it could happen again and that is that. We hope he enjoys his new home without any little ones around and a big yard with other doxies to run around with. Farewell Reese, Reesie, Reesers, and Reese Piece.

Here are the boys calling truce so Reese can leave on good terms.

DC Cherry Blossoms

Since I am so behind with uploading my pictures I will blog about something we did about a month ago. Here we are in DC to see the Cherry Blossoms with our friends the Millwards. It was so beautiful and we really fell in love with our Nations Capitol. Twice a year the public is allowed inside with White House gates and we happened to be there the weekend they were doing it! We felt very privledged to be at the front steps of the White House and see the beautiful view overlooking the monuments. We had a wonderful time.

Mother's Day 2008

Crystal is a very caring, selfless mother who is always looking after Landon. She always wants the best for her son, and is so compassionate towards his needs. I am always impressed with how patient she is. She is truely a loving mother in every way.
I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART. Happy Mother's Day

Smith's Playhouse

This is the Smith's Playhouse in Philadelphia. Landon loves the Smith Playhouse because there are a lot of toys there for him to play with. Mommy loves the Playhouse because it's free for people who have children ages 5 and under!

I always go with other moms and the kids can play.

Awesome swing!

Landon's favorite swing. He was not happy when it was time to move on.

But then he decided that the car was pretty cool, too. He got in and started steering the wheel, honking the horn, and even blowing raspberries like an engine. Is he a boy or what?

My First Blog

That's right!! I'm now a blogger and proud to be one. I couldn't stand my sister in law, Sharla, having one without me so I jumped on the bandwagon and here I am. I'm excited about our family and friends staying up to date with us through our blog. Especially since we are so far away from them and Landon is growing so fast. Stay tuned mis amigos.
