We had our baby boy on August 30, 2010 at 2:44 pm. He weighed 8lbs 9oz and was 22" long! I was not expecting him to be that big, it was a shock! He has dark hair, and looks like Troy. Although, now that we are home, and the swelling and bruising have gone down we think he is starting to show more resemblences of Landon. He is such a sweet baby and loves to be held! He did not like his bassinet in the hospital at all. I cannot believe how much easier the 2nd time around has been for a lot of things, especially the labor and delivery process. We love this little guy so much and feel so blessed that everything was able to work out the way it has. Landon is very interested in the baby and is excited about being a big brother.

Landon turned 3 on May 29th and since we had just gone to Disneyland, Mickey Mouse was still on the brain and we ran with it. We had so much fun.
I made him a Mickey Mouse shirt, and since we only had a few friends I made a shirt for everyone.

We had dinner/party in the park and the weather was so pleasant we could have stayed all night.

We ended the night with sparklers. We had such a great day and a fun celebration!

We finished our countdown and we were ready to fly! We went to visit Aunt Andrea, Uncle Keith, and the boy cousins. Landon had such a great time getting to know them, Ethan was his partner in crime (they are only 4 days apart). Of course, while there, we went to Disneyland for 3 days! My parents and my cousin decided to join us from UT. We had the best time and still talk about all the memories we made. You should see how much my belly has grown since then, whoa!

That's right! Landon's going to be a big brother this year! We are so excited to welcome another baby into our family. I'm due August 28th and just finising the first trimester. Sickness has ended, yay! Energy slowly coming back. Now we can start the fun of a growing belly.

Troy had a birthday the end of December. I'm still posting 2 month old pictures for our family to see. We were going to go up to the poconos and go tubing, but with wind chill temps well below zero we decided not to. Instead we went bowling (really Landon went bowling-every turn he thought was his!).

We came home and made a brownie ice cream cake.

We ate hamburgers for dinner.

Disney On Ice

Santa left Disney on Ice tickets for our family so we went the day after Christmas and had so much fun. Landon is at such a fun age right now and LOVES Mickey Mouse. We had seats that were at the absolute top and right before the show was starting we noticed that there were tons of empty seats way down below so we went down and got ourselves some great seats! The show was titled "Let's Celebrate" and we celebrated all kinds of events/holidays and ended with a Christmas celebration. So fun, so worth it!

On Christmas Eve we got together with some friends for dinner and a White Elephant gift exchange which the kids thought was so fun. We ate tons of appetizers and a delicious salmon dinner.
We came home and set up our tri-pod to get a family picture in front of our tree. Landon thought it was the funniest game to push the camera button then run and say CHHHEEEEESSSEEEE for a long time.

So we changed in our jammies and played the picture taking game again.

Light Shows

A few days before Christmas Landon and I took a train down to the city and met up with Troy to go see some light shows. We first went to Macy's and saw this fun light show set to music. Then we walked over to the Comcast Center to see their Christmas Spectacular 3D on their big screen tv in the lobby.

Snowed In

So here I am again, trying to catch up with pictures almost a month old. The Saturday before Christmas we had a huge storm come through and we were snowed in. We actually loved playing in the snow, making cookies, watching movies, and playing games. It was nice to be together the weekend before Christmas instead of running all over town. This was the biggest storm we've seen Philadelphia have.

Advent Calendar

Since this is our first year on our own for Christmas we get to start a few of our own traditions. This advent calendar is one of them. I've heard of this idea a few years ago and thought it sounded fun so we gave it a try. It really has been so fun. Every night/day we do some type of activity together as a family. We have made cookies, played games, gone to see lights, made a gingerbread house, watched Christmas movies, and the list goes on. We have had such great quality time together as a family. Highly reccomended.

Landon and Santa

This is just a snapshot I hurried to take while the elf was taking the professional photo! The real photo turned out so cute, too. We went to the mall a few weeks ago so Landon could ask Santa for a train. That has been his phrase of the season-"ask Santa for a train". I didn't think he would really want to see Santa up close but he waited very patiently in line while we kept talking up how fun and nice Santa is. When it was his turn I was expecting to have us get a family photo with Santa, but he ran right up and jumped into Santa's lap and immediatley started asking for a train! He had such a cute quality conversation with Santa before the photo. He also was so excited that Santa gave him 3 candy canes.

He talked about Santa's lap for days. I finally took him back one morning before the line started and he did the same thing and was so excited. This time he was telling Santa all about church and his friends there so Santa called me over and gave me several handfuls of candy canes for all his friends at church!

Santa Clause is Commin' to Town.....on a Firetruck

Earlier this month our town had their tree lighting ceremony where Santa shows up on a Firetruck. Landon can't say the 'tr' sound in the middle of a word such as Firetruck. He replaced the 'tr' with an 'f' sound. All day long he would say "go see Santa on a firetruck". And he has said it for the last few weeks. It's quite funny. He was so excited to have Evan there with him, too.

Martha Stewart!!!

Last Wednesday we got to go see a taping of the Martha Stewart Show in New York!! We went as the Mormon Mommies and had a blast! It really was an amazing experience. The show will be aired on Black Friday, so everyone start clearing your schedules so you can look for us. The cameras were by us the whole time and we went home with a ton of giveaways! Our dear friend, Beth recently moved away and flew out here just to go with us. I'm so glad she did, she always makes a party!

At the end of the taping, Beth got to ask Martha a question. She asked her what she is doing for Thanksgiving and invited her over to her house! Does that look like the face of a #1 fan?

Joey came out and took a picture with us, he was awesome. All the procuders loved our group because we were so crazy.

Grandma and Grandpa

A few weeks ago Grandma and Grandpa Wilde came to visit and it was exciting. We did some sight seeing around Philly and then went down to Washington DC for the weekend. I volunteered for the Marine Corp Marathon that weekend and got to help those runners at the end. It was a fun week and Landon loved Grandma and Grandpa!

Here's what we did for Halloween. We went trick or treating 3 times. Once at the Trunk or Treat, once around our Main Street area, and of course, with friends on Halloween night! Landon was a Dragon, but we will also accept him being called a dinosaur (everyone thought it was a dino which he also loved!). It rained quite a bit while trick or treating but we survivied.

Landon's New Obsession-Football

Landon has recently discovered football and absolutely loves it! In the picture below Troy was looking at some stats on the computer with Landon next to him getting excited to see football players on the computer. When it was time to close the laptop and get ready for church, Landon threw a fit and ran upstairs to our room, turned on the TV, and flipped through the channels until he found football. He stopped crying and sat down to watch it while we got ready for church.

These next two pictures have become another habit of his. For breakfast and lunch he thinks he needs to eat his meal on a towel, on the floor, while watching football. He now also gets excited for baseball and hockey. I only wish I had been recording these for tomorrow's long flight!

Grandma came for a visit-well over a month ago!

My mom helped me fly home from Utah this summer and stayed for a few weeks. We had a lot of fun. Here are some of the highlights:

We even made it out to Hershey Park......on an overcrowded weekday. We gave up on rides and went to the waterpark only to find that they had hours of lines just to get into the pools. Landon was able to ride lots of kiddie rides and had a great time.

We had a great time with Grandma and can't wait to see you again next week!

Happy Pioneer Day!

Anyone who has spent time with us this summer knows how much this kid loves water. He doesn't bat an eye which worried me while staying at my parents house with a swimming pool in the backyard. He did really well though and never tried to go out on his own, thank goodness, but we did go for a swim every day!

Emily and Jackson's visit to PA

I know I haven't blogged in a LONG time but here is what we've been up to the last few months. My cousin, Emily, and her little boy, Jackson, came to visit us for 2 weeks in July. We had a great time showing there where we live. Here are some of the highlights of their visit.

Going to Valley Forge

The Philadelphia Zoo, America's First Zoo! Much thanks to my friend, Jenn for going with us. Her pass allowed all of us in and saved us a lot of money. Thanks Jenn!

We toured Philadelphia in a day! Troy took Landon home halfway through the day which helped us be able to tour faster!

We got to see Troy at work in the Foot and Ankle Clinic.

Had to have some cheesesteaks!

Beach Day!

These two boys got along great. Jackson was sure great to put up with Landon copying everything he did.

We even made it to Intercourse, PA to Amish country!

4th of July Weekend

We had a great four day weekend in DC over the fourth of July. We went down to meet up with my cousin Emily and her little boy, Jackson, and stayed at her Grandpa's house. The weather was fabulous! We did get caught in a major rainstorm with no where to get shelter. We were drenched through every layer of clothing! That's happened to me more than once this year.

On July 4th we had a pancake breakfast with Bill and Sheridan's ward and played on the playground, horseshoes, and volleyball. Then we relaxed for a while at their home and enjoyed each other's company. In the late afternoon we headed into the District and left Landon with Bill and Sheridan. They offered to babysit him and take him to their neighborhood fireworks display which was so nice of them.

On the drive back to Philadelphia we stopped at the Washington D.C. Temple. It is beautiful and the visitor center was great. Emily and Jackson came home with us and have been here for the last few weeks!

My Birthday was yesterday!!!! I am now 27 yrs old. Landon and I went down to the city to meet Troy for lunch at Jim's Steaks on South Street. They are ranked one of the best cheesesteak joints in the area. We thought they were so good. They said they go through about 500 lbs of meat a day! I believe it too, because the line was down the block.

Later on we had friends over for cake and ice cream. I don't have a picture of everyone, but there really were adults at my party, all you see are the kids! Also, look at how many cakes there are! I've always had the carrot cake (the cake with the big blue candle) for my birthday but this year I have fallen in love with a lemon cake that I talked about on Mother's Day. I we made both, and then my friend brought over a Chocolate Peanut Butter cake. I've never had that much dessert on my birthday! I had a great time with everyone, thanks for making me feel special! And thanks for all the phone calls from friends and my family.

Playing in the Rain

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but ours has been raining just about every single day. It's getting quite old feeling like April has never left us. Anyway, to spice things up a bit the rain we had on Saturday was like a Texas rain storm! My friend and I were out shopping when it hit and the water in the parking lot came higher than our ankles and when we reached the store it looked like we had just gotten out of the swimming pool with our clothes on. These pictures really don't show what we really had but Troy and Landon were only out there for a few minutes and they are that soaked!

Blueberry Sour Cream Pancakes

Here is the story about these babies. My cousin, Julie, who lives in Raliegh kept telling me about these pancakes that are so good called Blueberry Cottage Cheese Pancakes. I flat out told her I thought they sounded digusting but she emailed me the recipe anyway and said they are a must try. Well, 1 1/2 years later I was visiting her after she had her twins and she found out I had never tried them and made them for me. I could not believe how good they were, I really stood corrected. We just made them last weekend and I decided that in my home they will be called Blueberry Sour Cream Pancakes-it gives more justice to the yummy pancakes that they are!

sidenote: I don't photograph food well, imagine these sprinkled with powdered sugar and a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Blueberry Sour Cream Pancakes-AKA-Blueberry Cottage Cheese Pancakes

1 1/4 c. flour or 1 c. white flour and 1/4 c. wheat flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
1 c. cottage cheese
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. blueberries
Butter for griddle

Combine all ingredients and gently fold in blueberries last. Heat pan or griddle to medium heat. Butter pan lightly. Spoon 1/4 c. batter (or less) and spread around. Do not make your pancakes too big. Trust me. Cook on one side for about 3-4 minutes, flip and cook another 2 min.

Landon Goes to the Dentist

Landon had his first dentist appointment a few weeks ago and overall did really well. I didn't like laying back and having people in his mouth but loved getting all the toys and stickers they gave him. He was crying in the picture above and I told him to say cheese, and that's the face I got! I thought it was so funny.

Here's my sweet baby boy two years ago! I can't believe it has already been two years and then again it's hard to remember life without Landon. We are so blessed to have him in our family, he brings us so much joy.

Landon was born May 29, 2007 at 2:25 pm. I thought it would be fun to see his baby pictures.

This is how we started our day yesteray! Just recently, Landon has started gaining a longer interest in movies ("show" he calls it). We saw the new Disney movie, Up, which is so cute.

After the movie we came home for lunch and nap and then headed out to Build-A-Bear! He chose a cute shaggy dog and was really interested in the whole process. After we filled the dog he kept saying more, I guess he likes the big machine!

It was such a fun experience. He has loved that dog and shares his blanket with him.

After we created his stuffed dog, we went to dinner at TGI Fridays. The crew came out to sing to Landon and gave him a scoop of ice cream.

After dinner we headed home for cake and ice cream with a few friends.

He loved blowing out the candles.

Then we opened presents which was quite fun for all the kiddos.

I tried to get a picture of all the kids and this is the best one I got! They were all so pre-occupied with all the excitement.

And to top off the night, we headed out to watch fireworks. Our town has a Fun Festival the last week of May and Friday they had firworks! Perfect timing for Landon's birthday! We had such a fun filled day with our Land Man. We love you!

Our Outer Banks Trip

We just got home from a really fun trip. Beware of the amount of pictures in this post but when you're gone a week and a half, you have lots of pictures to share. We went with our friends, the Robertson's, down to the Outer Banks (a barrier island off the coast of North Carolina). My Great Aunt lives in VA so we stopped their overnight on the way down and back. It was fun to see them also. We sure had a wonderful trip and are so glad we were able to go.

Our first stop on the road was Chincoteague Island at the Island Creamery. They have homemade ice cream and homemade waffle cones which we love. Landon wouldn't give me back my cone after the picture so Troy got him his own!

Landon loved Darlene and Will's dog, Jasper. He followed him everywhere that night.

Darlene sang him a French song and gave him French lessons.

Now we are in the Outer Banks at Jocky Ridge State Park. As you can see the park is just a bunch of sand dunes.

Wright Brother's Museum. It was pouring rain that day so we had to come back for the outdoor sightseeing.

We climbed the Currituck Beach lighthouse with winds at the top of 35 mph! It was quite scary, but worth the view. In the picture below you can see the ocean on the left and the sound on the right.

At the lighthouse we met this cute little doxie named Fritz from Ohio. Of course Landon gravitated to him and we had fun reminiscing about Reese who we gave to a rescue exactly one year ago.

Landon didn't like getting too close to the ocean for the first few days, so he showed me how to swim in the sand.

We ended our trip with some ice cream.

This is at 10:15 AM on our way to my Aunt Darlene's house again. Does that tell you we wore ourselves out or what?

We stopped at the rest stop on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. You can see beyond us where the tunnel in and then out in the horizon where in comes back up for the brige.

One more stop before Darlene's house was Cape Charles. This is a beach on the bay side of the Delmarva peninsula and is shallow water without big waves, perfect for our little guy.

This time at Jasper's house, Landon wanted to ride him like a horse! He kept sitting on him and trying to straddle him and Jasper didn't so much care for it!

Here's my Great Aunt Darlene. It was so fun to stay with her and Uncle Will on they way down and back. They are a lot of fun to be around.

One last stop on the way home was the Island Creamery in Chincoteague once more. Yummy!

Mother's Day

Here are some Mother's Day pictures that I haven't posted yet. I had a really nice Mother's Day weekend. On Saturday I had a kid-free day complete with time at the salon getting a manicure and pedicure then Troy had a babysitter that night so we could go shopping. On Sunday he made this gourmet salmon dinner all by himself plus a lemon cake that is sooooo good. My friend Kristin made it a while ago and I haven't been able to get enough ever since. Next time I make it I'll post a picture and the recipe! I hope everyone else had a nice Mother's Day.

Longwood Gardens

Last week we went to Longwood Gardens which is noted as one of the best in the world. It was so beautiful, I wish my backyard could look something like that. Landon was so cute with the flowers to be very gentle and smell them. His most favorite, however, were the water features. He was soaking wet and did not want to move on to the next thing unless we told him there would be another water fountain. Luckily for us, there always was.

Gettysburg

A few weeks ago we took a drive over to Gettysburg, PA to see where the 3 day battle during the Civil War was fought. It is beautiful countryside with monuments everywhere. We did the car tour with a CD and went at our own pace. The CD was great with story after story and explanations of every stoping point. We camped overnight with a campsight with showers (of course!) and Landon did pretty well considering he was pretty sick. I really enjoyed seeing Gettysburg because when I was teaching fifth grade US History is part of the curiculum. One of the schools I taught at did a 3 day reinactment which was really fun.

Here's a story for you to laugh at.....Landon wakes up in the middle of the night at ends up on the air mattress with us. Since Landon is having a hard time getting comfortable and wants to lay horizontal, I offered to Troy for him to use our huge, puffy, extra blanket and sleep on the other side of the tent so he won't continue to be kicked by Landon. He went and when he got off the air mattress I realized that there is a hole in it because I sank down to the ground and continued sinking the rest of the night--no fun. Landon gets comfortable and goes to sleep but will only sleep on me. When I move him to the other side of the mattress he comes right back. Meanwhile, Troy is on the other side of the tent snoring like thunder. I can't get up to go tap him to stop so I see our shoes next to me and start throwing them across the tent to wake him up so he'll adjust. He wakes up, looks around, and before I can tell him anything, he lays his head back down and starts snoring again. I was out of shoes and hope at this point. The next thing I know, birds are chirping and Troy wakes up saying he didn't sleep a wink. Oh, I let him know that he slept more than a wink and that I needed a back rug and a large Coke. We had a good laugh about the shoe toss!

We had a duck get really brave and come visit our camp! Landon loved it. The duck followed him to our tent. Can you see it in the picture below?

Valley Forge

Last week we went sight seeing at Valley Forge...one of the things to do on our list while we live in the area. Valley Forge is a beautiful park with open land and monuments along the path. Valley Forge is famous for the Revolutionary War and is where the American troops camped during the winter. We walked the 6.5 mile loop! It took us about 3 hours but we had a beautiful day and a fun time as a family.

I'm really behind with posting Easter pictures but here they are. The Easter Bunny found us and Landon had to take a double take as he walked to the table to breakfast. He quickly realized all that stuff was for him and went straight for the candy filled eggs. We thought it was funny he was in Halloween pj's. The Easter Bunny even left something for Troy and I even though we didn't leave out a basket! We had some friends over for dinner and I made my favorite carrot cake pictured below. Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

Last Saturday we had our ward Easter Brunch with, of course, an egg hunt. We got all the way to the church and realized we forgot our camera and the Easter Basket I made. Troy's mom was in town that weekend and had her camera so we could make due without ours but when we realized we had no basket that I worked so hard to finish before the egg hunt, Troy came to the rescue and rushed home to get it. We had so much fun collecting eggs and watching Landon figure it out.

Troy's White Coat Ceremony

Last Friday Troy had his White Coat Ceremony held at this Quaker Church. The ceremony is a rite of passage symbolizing the end of the bookwork and the beginning of his work in the clinic. It was much like a graduation ceremony. The professors and students marched in, there were speakers, the students were called to the front to be pinned, and then they recited the oath in unison. We ended up with a beautiful day after one huge rain storm and were so glad we could take pictures outside by the blossoms. Troy's mom flew in from Denver for the weekend so it was nice for her to be there as well. It was such a highlight, milestone day in his schooling. I'm so proud of him for doing well in school while always keeping Landon and I first priority. Doesn't he look hot in his white coat?

We sat in the first row after the reserved section for students and because Troy was with the "W's" he ended up sitting right in front of us!

We were married March 22, 2003 in the Bountiful, UT LDS Temple. It's hard to believe it's been 6 years and then again it's hard to imagine my life without Troy. To celebrate we had some sweet friends watch Landon all day on Saturday so we could go to NYC for the day and attend the Temple in Manhattan. That was such a neat experience for us and are so glad it was able to work out for us to go. The Juilliard School is right across the street from the temple so we attended a viola recital which was also really neat. Then we had a nice dinner at Sarabeth's Restaurant and headed home.

Our actual anniversary was Sunday and the Chiapelli's invited us over for dinner. After dinner we played circus and yoga. Doesn't Troy's headstand look great? And Carrie is 8 months pregnant doing that balancing pose. We had planned to have Chocolate Fondue so we took that over to their house and had a great time and ate everything!

Kids' Castle

Isn't this an awesome park? It is called Kids Castle and is about 20 minutes from us. I thought the story behind the park was really neat so I'll share it. Kids' Castle was designed and named by children of the community through an art contest in 1996. A committe was put together to turn their art into a reality and a year later was assembled in 12 days! The main castle is 35' and is quite the maze inside. We had a great time and can't wait until the weather keeps getting warmer so we can go back.

Our St. Patrick's Day was very uneventful. I went to a Body Pump class at the YMCA and when we came home it was beautiful outside so we stayed outside for a while. There's nothing better than bubbles! At the end of the day I realized that I never got a picture with us in our green so we took a quick snapshot before bathtime. Troy was in his blue scrubs so he was our photographer......like I said, very uneventful.

Troy had Spring Break a few weeks ago and we went to Hershey, PA for an overnight with another family in Troy's class. It was so cold. It's never fun when you start Spring Break with a major snow storm. We still had a good time and it was nice to have Troy around.

The tour is a ride and since no one was there that day we got to stay on and ride a few times.

The Ward Talent Show

Last Saturday night was the ward Talent Show and some of the women in the ward decided to show off their dancing skills. It was nice to see that my wife can still "Bust a Move" out on the dance floor. And let me tell you those clothes brought back some great memories from back in the day. Landon couldn't get enough of the dance. He would clap and laugh throughout the performance. Obviously his mom is a great dancer.

Little Gymer

I enrolled Landon in a Little Gym class at the YMCA which he has loved! They have all kinds of gym toys for them to play on and the teacher gets out a parachute and does a circle time. It is so cute to see him practice his skills. He loves the rings, the trampoline, and the balance beam best. I couldn't get a picture of the balance beam because he still needs me to hold his hand. I had no idea he could hang like that. The teacher is always so impressed with him. He's a couple of feet from the floor and will keep hanging when we swing him. The trampoline is about as long as the room and he'll run up and down and jump onto the pad at the end saying "whoa"! He also loves building up the blocks in front of the slide, then crashing into them. He is so fun to watch and absolutely loves his class. On days that we go to the Y just to work out he always wants to go down to the gym instead of babysitting.

Raleigh, NC

We recently went down to Raleigh, NC to see our cousins. Julie recently had twins, Yates and Sadie, and it was so fun to see them and have Landon play with Ethan. It was also nice to enjoy some nice weather and play outside.

A few weeks ago we went to an 80's birthday party. We had a lot of fun trying to come up with an outfit and seeing everyone elses. While there we split into a girls group and a guys group. Our task was to come up with a music video routine for an 80's song. The girls danced to Material Girl and the guys to Physical. Needless to say we had a lot of laughs that night.

Crazy Landon

Lately Landon has figured out that when he goes to bed Mom and Dad stay up. This means he's figured out how to stall. He'll get ready for bed just fine and then after we say prayers he tries to come up with whatever he can to not go to bed. This particular evening he went over to his hats and was begging to put his hat on. Then, came the tie, yes, he had to have it on. Then, he wanted to sit down and play a tic tac toe game his cousins gave him for Christmas. We haven't even played it yet but he saw it and wanted to play. How am I supposed to say no? So we played a couple rounds and he caught on pretty fast. Then he ws ready for bed.

Another habit he is starting to form is helping himself to a treat while we clean up dinner. He loves these 100 calorie pack of cookies which he can get out of the cabinet. The other night I let him have some cookies and he took the package over to his horse, dumped the package out on the horse, ran over to the trash can to throw the package away, came back to sit on the side and use his horse like a table! Isn't he clever?

Snowfall--Philly Style

Last Monday we had a great snow storm to go and play in. Our friends Jenn and Evan who live just two doors down from us came out to play, too. It is so fun to have the boys live close together and be buddies. Philly snow doesn't last long so when it snows you better get out there.

We went sledding and had so much fun. Landon laughed the whole way down the hill and then didn't want to let go of the sled to walk up the hill. Troy ended up carrying him on the sled. After a few times down the hill we decided to send him down by himself and he did so good. I have a video that I'll post later on. It made us wish that Philly had more snow....I guess we'll have to find a fun place in the Poconos!

Troy Turns the Big 3-0

Troy turned 30 on December 29 and I surprised him with an overnight at a bed and breakfast called The Gregory Inn. This was our first time being away from Landon overnight but he was really good for Grandma and Grandpa and we had a great time away. When we got back from the B&B, Troy wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday. So we headed on over to play some games.

Denver Children's Museum

Here's the firefighters! Denver has a beautiful Children's Museum and we had a great time there. I have the hardest time getting Landon to look at the camera that I give up on waiting for a smile. He really did have a great time there, even though his face looks "huh?".

Christma Morning

I know I'm a month behind but I still want to post all our Christmas pictures. Here is the tree before we divied up the gifts. We had such a great morning together and loved watching Landon get so excited.
Everything he opened had to get out of the box right away and you know kids toys aren't always the easist to open. Grandpa had a pocket knife on him (yes, even while wearing his pajamas) and ended up cutting himself pretty badly.

I loved his face.

Troy's aunt and uncle and two cousins came over for Christmas dinner. It was good to see them again. They were so sweet to come bringing more gifts for Landon to open which he wanted out of the box right away!

Christmas Eve Scripture Reading

While in Denver, Landon learned how to turn off and on the lamp. This is all he wanted to do when we were in the living room. While Grandpa Wilde was reading the Christmas Story in the New Testament, Landon gave him his opinion. It's a little hard to hear Landon but Grandpa repeats what he says. Also, this was the 2nd or 3rd account of the Christmas story being read so I don't blame Landon if he was done.

On Christmas Eve we had a lot of different appetizers for dinner. It was a fun idea and really tasty.
After dinner we headed out to see the lights. This house was decked out with so much to see we had to get out of the car!

When we got home we opened our Christmas Eve presents or should I say pajamas! When Landon figured out something for him was in the wrapping paper he got excited.

Here are our new pajamas. We also read from the New Testement the accounts of Christ's birth which Landon wasn't very fond of. I'll post a video next.

No Santa This Year

After going to 2 different malls and having the Santa line be hours worth of waiting we decided that it wasn't worth it this year. Knowing Landon, he wouldn't have sat on Santa's lap anyway. He has become very shy about strangers especially those in costume. We were, however, able to see this beautiful Christmas display where it was actually snowing!

This is my friend, Donette. We went to Clovis High School together along with her husband, Brian. We were on the drill team together for a few years and were great friends. They live in Colorado Springs so we were able to get together while we were in CO. It was so good to see her again and her growing family. The last time I saw her was at her wedding nearly five years ago. We had a great visit and picked up where we left off as if we didn't miss anything. It was really funny because we had the same haircut, purse, same color phone, and the boys have the same backpack and coat. Her two kids are Joslyn and Cohen. Cohen is exactly one year older than Landon. We hope it's not 5 years until we see you again!

Troy and I rendezvoused in Denver after his finals. That was mine and Landon's third flight in a week. We were able to be in Denver for 2 weeks. The first thing we did was take our Christmas picture so we could get it in the mail. This was our family Christmas picture for 2008. If you didn't get a card, please don't be offended, we were doing cards on vacation. We really do love all our friends and family and are so blessed to know you and have you in our lives. Snow in Utah

I took Landon out in the snow one day and he didn't really know what to think. I tried to lay him down to make a snow angel and he freaked out. He did think it was pretty fun to walk in. I asked him to wave to the camera and that is what he did.

Landon and I were able to go to Utah for a week in December before meeting up with Troy in Denver for Christmas. We had a great time visiting with family. Megan and her boyfriend, Marcus, got engagned on Christmas Day and have chosen to have their wedding in October. One night while we were there we built a gingerbread house. Landon thought it was great.

We took my mom on the tour and had a nice time. We've done this a few times now and usually we start at Troy's school.

I'm still blogging about things we did when my mom was here back in the beginning of Nov. I'm trying to catch up....but here we are at this cute little town in the Poconos. It's called Jim Thorpe and the postcards called in Switzerland in the Poconos. It was so beautiful up there. We shopped, ate lunch, and took a train ride. We think east coast leaves are absolutely gorgeous.

My mom came for a visit the end of October and into November. It was fun to have her here and show her PA. While she was here we went to Lancaster County where many Amish live. We had a fun day shopping and Kitchen Kettle Village, making pretzels, and going on a buggy ride given by a real Amish man named Jesse.

We brought a picnic lunch and played at the playground for a little while. Landon loved the petting zoo.

If I was caught up on my posts, this would have been three different posts. But since I'm behind, this will be one long post. You'll see a Halloween Party, Trunk or Treat at the church (we ended up staying inside because that was the day it snowed), and trick or treating on Halloween night.

The Breast Cancer 3 Day

The Sports Medicine Club from Troy's podiatry school were able to help out at the Breast Cancer Walk for the Cure back in mid October. It was a great experience for him. These walkers walk 60 miles in 3 days so you can imagine the sores that can develop. I came at the end of Troy's shift and one of the ladies he worked on was so disappointed he wasn't going to be back because she loved how gentle he was.

For those of you wondering why I haven't posted in a while it's because our computer was having problems and died. We thought we'd have it up and running by now, but it's not. So yesterday Troy went and bought a new one. It's so exciting and maybe now I can upload my pictures because my memory card is full!

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater

Did you know that Peter is a squirrel? It's true, I've seen him for 2 years now eating my pumpkins in mid day on my front porch. He lives in that tree and it only took a few days for this to happen to my pumpkin. I had 2 good sized pumpkins and one baby pumpkin. A few days later the baby pumpkin had been swiped. No sign of it. A few more days later, and I have a gaping hole exposing the inerds of another pumpkin, thus doomed for the trash to prevent a swam of ants that have already appeared. I would really like to enjoy having pumpkins on my porch to create a festive Fall display. Instead, when I drive up to my house I see Peter on top of my pumpkin digging away and bits of pumpkin flying everywhere. I don't understand why my porch gets the squirrel and not my neighbor who lives just 2 doors down (in a townhome community) with a much larger Fall display than mine. What shall I do?

Time Out for Women

Last Saturday I attended Time Out For Women in Philadelphia. It is a church conference for women with wonderful, uplifting presenters. A lot of women from the ward attended and it was so fun to be together. I sat on the front row, right by the presenters, who also had really fun personalities. Hillary Weeks was the musical artist and I loved her. She is so funny and very talented. My other favorite speaker was Emily Watts. You should look up the schedule for next year and see if you can attend somewhere close to you.
